Finding Your Property.
“He wanted a property where he could land his Tiger Moth”
Unusual requests come with the territory for Premier Property Search. Nigel Sellers of Premier Property Search is familiar with strange requirements, but the request for a country house with a landing strip ranks among his most difficult to fulfil.
“Yes, that took a little bit of research,” says Nigel. “But then, we are used to sourcing the unusual. For example, we have people who are more concerned about a building to garage their new Ferrari rather than the house itself. We see couples where the gentleman wants a place in the
middle of the countryside and the lady has her heart set on a property with a sea view. We are instructed by people who live on the other side of the world, and tell us to spend £2 million for them before they ever see the place.”
Premier Property Search work exclusively for purchasers specialising in acquiring country houses and estates, farms and equestrian properties, village or city houses. We have facilitated the procurement of over £45 million worth of property in the last three years.
Knowing what clients want – when the clients themselves do not
Premier Property Search’s clients expect an extremely high level of service, which makes unusual requests a regular feature. Nigel Sellers comments: “We have to get to know our clients pretty well in order to understand exactly what they want – and what they want often changes as we discuss it with them. Sometimes they do not realise that a particular aspect of a property is vital to them until they see it – or see its absence.”
Nigel however insists that there is no short-cut to such knowledge – nor to its fulfilment. “Of course, one only gets to know about such requirements by spending time with each client family. You only get to share in the real detail of their tastes, needs and desires when people trust you. And that takes a little while. It also takes time to grow the extensive experience of property search that we have, and the network of contacts we need to keep our knowledge of the marketplace up to date. We often get to know about properties before they actually come onto the market – this gives us, and our clients, a tremendous advantage. We move fast – and our clients are also prepared to move quickly to secure their dream property.”
No substitute for spending time with clients
“In the end, it’s all about the personal touch.” Nigel continues, “Our philosophy of receiving a personal briefing, maintaining continuous personal contact and personally accompanying our clients to every viewing is extremely important.”
We pride ourselves on saving our clients – who are usually extremely busy people – significant amounts of time and effort. We offer understanding, expertise, local knowledge – and we also like to think that we make the purchasing process a more enjoyable experience for our clients.
Which reminds us . . . the gentleman with the Tiger Moth? “Ah, yes,” says Nigel Sellers. “It took some doing but we found him his landing strip. We are always determined to succeed, however unusual the request.”
