Loads of activity to beat Stamp Duty deadline
Whilst a number of estate agents are still waiting for the seasonal increase in activity to get going this Spring, Premier Property Search saw a flurry of activity towards the end of the first quarter. These assignments were from people asking for our professional and immediate help.
‘We had not expected to be so busy in March’ explains Nigel Sellers, one of the Directors of Premier Property Search, ‘but five separate enquiries turned into profitable business as people rushed to beat the Stamp Duty deadline date of the beginning of April, when SDLT on second homes increased by an additional 3%.’
Property search services appeal mainly to clients who are described by some as being ‘cash rich and time poor’, who recognise that we, as professional property buyers get to know and view properties that are either offered quietly or never get onto the open market.
‘It is rare for people to call Premier Property Search and enquire about us helping them secure a second home or a pied-à-terre. However, when faced with a 3% Stamp Duty increase, professional know-how won-out with these buyers’.
Within the last three weeks of March, Premier Property Search helped to buy six properties. These were geographically scattered across the country ranging from Preston, St Albans, Newton in Dorset as well as 2 different parts of London.
We not only offer property search services but also help with negotiation – a service people are finding more and more indispensable.
