Mike a semi-retired, professional, entrepreneur, had been renting in North London for several years. However, having found the rental search to be exceptionally challenging when seeking a property in London Mike wanted to outsource the task to a professional this time around.

He quite enjoyed the hustle and bustle of London but over the years the increased noise and fear of increased violence, law and order made Mike want to move to quieter and take on a more sedate lifestyle.

Unusually, Mike was seeking a long-term rental, two to five years, he wanted an edge of village house, a garden with total privacy and the nearby village to have an active community and it must have a bistro pub. Mike enjoyed his beer and being a single gentleman, he depended upon good pub grub!

Finding a suitable village house that had the charm, character, a private garden and importantly, a landlord who was looking for a long-term tenant sounds easy to find but in reality, is jolly challenging.

The rental search becomes even more of a task when viewing rental properties that meet with most or all of the search brief only to be informed that our client wouldn’t not tolerate or accept a rental property that is dependent upon ‘private drainage’, did not have mains Gas and the internet signal and speed was far from being close to what he was accustomed to in London!

It was a steep learning curve to discover that mains drains, mains gas and the Internet speed in country villages was behind that of other parts of the towns and cities in the UK.

Eventually, a suitable rental property was identified, even though it was heat source that fuelled the water and heating but at least not oil, the landlord who happened to be an investment landlord, so the possibility of a long-term rental was feasible and the negotiations to wrap up the rental was finally agreed.

A very happy tenant who has recently moved from the busy parts of London to a quiet and quintessential village in Hampshire that even has the bistro village pub who brews its own Real Ale!
